Came across this site yesterday thanks to my friend Jay. It is www.Ted.com. The tagline is “Ideas worth sharing”. It is a collection of video lectures, speeches, and presentations on a wide variety of subjects by well known authorities. A quick scan includes videos on business, science, biodiversity, physics, cello, nanotechnology, and on and on. Almost any subject you can think of. A couple of featured talks include:
Steve Jobs: How to live before you die. A video of a commencement speech at Stanford by Steve Jobs. He discusses pursuing your dreams and learning from life’s setbacks.
Michael Sandel: What’s the right thing to do? Harvard professor discusses moral questions in the modern age.
Larry Lessig: Laws that choke creativity. Stanford professor Larry Lessig talks about copyright laws and reviving our creative culture.
