The library is a great place to visit all year round, but there’s something about our rainy winters that make it more appealing at this time of year. The Library is not just a beautifully designed building, it offers a multitude of events and programs. Whether you are an adult, a student, or a preschooler, there is something to do at the Danville Library.
Adults can take advantage of job hunting seminars, special speakers, and even workshops for computer literacy. Book clubs offer opportunities to socialize and dig deeper into both current and classic books.
Elementary aged children have their own Children’s Book Discussion Group that meets once a week. Even little dog lovers can also read to certified therapy dogs through the Paws to Read Literacy Program.
Each summer, the library and their sponsors host programs that encourage a summer of literacy, with prizes for children who participate. And for the youngest members of the family, there are engaging story times, for as little as lap sit infants to preschoolers. The library also hosts free family friendly entertainment, from marionette shows to magicians.
See how much the library offers? Aside from all its special programs, all libraries in Danville and San Ramon are linked through the system, which means that books can be requested from the thousands of available titles throughout the system. That makes it easy for all levels of researchers. Even eBooks are available! That means you can borrow books without leaving your home!
Pay a visit to the library — there’s more to it than just books.
