With over 40 parks, San Ramon has some of the best recreation space in the Tri Valley. This series will highlight some of the the best parks for play for children young and old.

Valley View Park

Tucked away in Gale Ranch, and close to the Gale Ranch shopping center, Valley View Park is a quiet park with lovely views. Walkers and bike riding children appreciate the long path that circles the park, and there are tennis courts and a large baseball field. The play ground is perfectly sized, making it easy to keep track of children, with a unique set of monkey bars that will challenge your child’s inner gymnast.

Valley View Park, San Ramon

The sweeping views of the surrounding hills make it a picturesque place for a picnic, and there is often a pleasant breeze. There are picnic tables close to the playground that make it an ideal setting for a large play date group, as well as more private, covered picnic tables across the field. It’s proximity to Safeway makes it easy to pick up some fresh picnic fare for a fun summer day at the park!
