In 1998, a dining gem called Cafe Esin opened in San Ramon. Named “Esin” for one of the chef/owners, the name also means “inspiration,” and since their opening, their fresh and inventive cuisine has inspired a faithful following. Ten years later, Esin Restaurant & Bar relocated to its beautiful new space at The Rose Garden in Danville, where they continue to serve wonderful food and wines.
The elegant space and thoughtful menu make Esin a favorite among locals, not only for the special occasions and celebrations, but for a memorable meal, regardless of occasion. On a busy weeknight, you can easily forget that you are dining in a sleepy, yet charming, suburb - the ambiance has the feel of a lively restaurant in downtown San Francisco.
Menu items include hearty items such as a duck leg confit with pilaf, toasted pecans and a cherry chutney, or their house specialty pot roast with garlic mashed potatoes. However, small plates are also available for those with lighter appetites, including seared ahi bruschetta and PEI mussels. And if you have room, they offer a lovely desert menu to round out your meal, along with the perfect after dinner sherry or port.
