Community theater may sometimes be eschewed because it is a little too local. However, the San Ramon Performing Arts has created a wonderful balance for their 2010-2011 Season, which begins October 9, 2010. While there is a lovely focus on community performances such as the San Ramon Symphonic Band, they also play host to well known musicians, such as Jim Brickman and America.
The Bay Area Children’s Theater provides quality, professional performances for the entire family based on children’s book classics such as The Little Engine That Could and Little House on the Prairie.
Even local hero, Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger will speak to discuss his recently released autobiography, Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters.
However, San Ramon Performing Arts reaches beyond their audience and provides hands on experience to those who wish to develop their talents. Budding performers can audition for Improv U, the Youth Symphony, San Ramon Community Chorus, or the San Ramon Community Theater.
Whether you prefer to be on the stage or in the audience, there is a place for you at the San Ramon Performing Arts! Learn more at http://www.ci.san-ramon.ca.us/parks/theater/default.htm.
