If you’re ready to take an early plunge into the holiday season, then head out to the Alameda Fairgrounds in Pleasanton this weekend for the annual Harvest Festival.
The three-day event features hundreds of artisans exhibiting American handmade items including beautiful jewelry, clothing, specialty foods, photography, original art, hand-turned wood, music, ceramics and much more. There are many holiday-themed items to get your ready for the holidays, and it’s a great chance to get a jump on your holiday shopping.
Enjoy live music from the Fargo Brothers, a blues/rock and roll band from Guerneville, and Bad Catz, an established Rock, Rhythm and Blues band from the Greater Sacramento area.
There will also be a Kidzone for your little ones to show their creative side by trying their hand at a variety of crafts. And new this year for all you scrapbooking fans is an interactive “shop and crop” where scrappers can buy table space and crop til they drop while being with their friends in a fun-filled environment.
The Harvest Festival is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Adult tickets are $9 with reduced prices for kids and seniors. If you bring a non-perishable food or money donation, you’ll get $2 off your ticket price. Representatives from the Alameda County Community Food Bank will be on hand to collect donations.
