Mall Montevideo Shopping

Good news! It looks like East Dublin is poised to be the first Northern California home of a high-end mall from Caruso Affiliated, the owner of several such centers in Southern California, according to the Contra Costa Times.

The company bought 14.32 acres of county land at the southwest intersection of Dublin Boulevard and Hacienda Drive in Dublin. A 165,000-square-foot retail shopping center, anchored by a high-end grocery store is in the works.

Some of Caruso Affiliated’s nine other shopping centers include tenants like Barney’s, Nordstrom, and Coach.

“This is a huge win for Dublin,” Linda Smith-Maurer, the city’s economic development director, told the Contra Costa Times. “The goal is to work to build a project that people in the Tri-Valley have never experienced or had.”

I wholeheartedly echo what Smith-Maurer said. The new shopping center will be a great alternative for area residents and will be one more lure for those looking to buy a home in communities like Blackhawk, Alamo and throughout the Tri-Valley area.
