Grab your kids and gather with the community for some holiday cheer on Dec. 3 when the annual Hometown Holiday Parade and tree lighting ceremony kick off the holiday season in downtown Pleasanton.

The parade will hit the streets at 5 p.m.  As it concludes an hour or so later, the holiday tree, in front of the Museum on Main, will officially come to life as the mayor lights the tree.

There will also be a special appearance by Santa Claus and a community sing-along.

The Amador Valley High School marching band will lead the parade at the school’s parking lot and continuing south to Old Bernal Avenue. The band will be followed by dozens of holiday-inspired entries.

Main Street will be closed to vehicles at from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Those interested in joining in the parade can still register at www.hometownholiday.com.

In the event of rain, the event may be canceled. An update will be made each hour after 2:30 p.m. on parade day at (925) 931-5352.
