'Kids Day Out' planned for tomorrow since it's a furlough day

Town of Danville will host a Kids Day Out for children ages 3-10 with the theme of "Lights, Camera, Action!" tomorrow from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 3, at the Oak Hill Park Community Center, Danville. Enjoy arts and crafts, games, and activities based on the theme of the day. Cost is $28 for Danville residents; $33 for non-residents. Children must be potty-trained to attend; no pull-ups. Wear comfortable, layered play clothes and closed-toe shoes (no black soles). Bring a snack, lunch and water each day. Pre-registration is required; call 314-3400.

Internships avaiable to work in Rep. McNerney's offices

Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-11) is accepting applications for internship positions available in his Stockton, Pleasanton and Washington, D.C. offices. These internships are designed to engage students who are interested in civics and government and want hands-on experience in a congressional office. College and post-graduate students are eligible to apply. Applications from high school students are considered on a case-by-case basis for internships in the Stockton and Pleasanton offices. All internship positions are unpaid and the office will work with colleges to award school credit for the internships.
