Walmart solicits bids for San Ramon store

This summer's rumors have come true as Walmart's construction company began accepting bids for a new Neighborhood Market on Alcosta Boulevard. A pre-bid meeting for potential contractors will be held at the future store on Feb. 8.

San Ramon's newest brewery is partnering with a support group for those who have lost a family member while serving in the armed forces -- and the brewery hasn't even opened yet. Schubros Brewery announced it would participate in fundraising activities for the East Bay Blue Star Moms and the Northern California Chapter of Gold Star Moms.

Dogs may be man's best friend, but for some Tri-Valley students, in the not-too-distant future, they may be anything but. The Pleasanton school board has approved a plan to allow drug detection dogs to do scent searches of student and teacher parking lots and gym lockers, although the board held off giving final approval until it finalizes its policy to address the issue.
