Livermore CA is a historic railroad town located East of Pleasanton that was incorporated in 1876, making it one of the oldest cities in East Bay. It originally was known for its agricultural and ranching, and for its wine growing area in the rolling hills of South Livermore where vineyards have thrived since the late 1800s.

More recently, Livermore has adopted a managed growth position, and emphasis has been placed on protecting the open space and vineyards that grace much of the city. Livermore has also begun an ambitious redevelopment effort for its downtown, attracting restaurants, a new multi-plex cinema, and higher density housing to create a charming modern city center. Livermore has cultivated its unique small town charm as well as its world renowned wine industry to create one of the most desirable cities in the East Bay.

In terms of real estate, Livermore California has enjoyed steady growth and strong appreciation, with homes and properties ranging from the $400,000 range to well over $1 million. Livermore California offers an abundance of newer housing, and should continue to enjoy above average appreciation rates for real estate.
